29. JUNE

Tomorrow will be three weeks from the day I had  my little operation and all is healing well, I feel fine so in order to celebrate I went to the allotment nice and early and picked another load of raspberries.

They are doing very well, it must be the combination of heat during the day and the shower  we  had during the night, I have decided to  make jam and the result is 13 jars of this delicious ruby concoction.

There was some chard in my large net cage, it bolted but had enough of shiny dark green leaves to include them tonight in my tray bake.

I have also started tidying the tomato plants in the greenhouses, the first one is done, four more to do…..

The courgettes are quite amazing, I thought first of all that I’m  not going to have many of them but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

I will  make a vegetable curry with them and next time I will use them to start making chutney. Have to remind myself what else I might need and next kind of production can start.

  1. Hi Helen,
Happy for you that the 3 weeks are over. Has the wound headed up well? Stitches dissolved?
Raspberries & courgettes look great. I’m sorry I’m missing that chutney…

    • Hi Renee, the wound has healed well, there are some stitches left but I’m not bothered, the surgeon said he’d take out any that are left. I feel almost like my old self, going shopping tomorrow as I need some ingredients for making chutney
