A PLACE CALLED WINTER

This story is loosely based on a real family story. Harry and Jack, two brothers, have nobody except each other as they grow up. There is more than enough money to provide for them, and Harry – being the older – takes on the role of looking after Jack, financing his studies etc. Usual things happen, they meet young ladies and soon we might think that this is yet another family saga running along some old, well-worn lines. They two brothers marry two sisters and children follow.

But then all changes: a chance meeting after a theatre performance – and this is when the book really comes into its own.

The descriptions are amazing. I had the scenes in front of my mind’s eye as I was reading. A roller-coaster of emotions and a brilliant ending. Atruly great read.
