10. OCTOBER

My tidying has continued on the allotment, I was ready to continue the strimming of the path. I had a great surprise as Dave had finished it with his mower yesterday in the afternoon. All I had to do was to trim the edges. It is amazing how such a simple job makes the area neat and tidy.

I remembered something that Tereza told me some time ago. Her boyfriend told her that they always try to root the stems of the sweet potato foliage to save for next year and have ready new plants. I decided to have a look and found a  number of the stems with some little roots already. I brought them home and will plant them in some smaller pots. No harm in trying.

I’m not sure what, if anything, will be in the soil when I finally harvest them. I hope for a few, just for the taste.
