Yes, there is such a thing as spare time. Evenings when ‘there is nothing on the telly’, during a football game – I don’t have to see them, the commentary is good enough for me or in the winter when I can’t do much in the garden or on the allotment.
It all started simply – I had some large balls of wool from a project that didn’t happen. Granny squares are simple, onceI got the idea I didn’t have to think about it too much and just made oodles of them. To make one of my blankets I need 130 squares – 10×13. To give it a nice finish and also re-inforce it I decided to back it. Simple polyester material from the market and job’s done.
So far I made nine of them, six have gone already – they make very good presents! – and I’ve just started another one.
